Chains collects nothing. There are no accounts, no analytics, no telemetry, and no cookies on this site. The tool runs entirely on your machine; your files, your journal, and your snapshots never leave hardware you control unless you move them yourself.

• Tool data: vaults live in folders you choose. Nothing is transmitted anywhere by the engine.
• This website: a static page. It sets no cookies and runs no trackers. It links to GitHub, which has its own policies.
• Sync: push and fetch move journal entries and blobs through directories you pick (a USB stick, a LAN share). That is file copying, not a service.

If this policy ever changes, the change will be stated here plainly. Until then: nothing in, nothing out.
