What's going on

Castle is the DOGS home-server platform: it replaces the router and the cloud at the same time. One box behind the ISP modem handles routing, firewall, DNS filtering, and network storage — with a single app to run it all.

The operating system underneath Castle. Ships headless CLI-only, or with a GUI on a Wayland compositor.

Drive Librarian

Tag every flash drive by USB serial (or a composite fingerprint when serials are blank), log sightings, and keep timestamped immutable backups that refresh on plug-in. Unknown drives are logged and flagged — never auto-trusted.

Gateway

The router replacement: DHCP, DNS, firewall, VLANs, QoS, Pi-hole-style blocking, and quota-controlled duplicate-download caching — everything behind the ISP modem, no silent TLS interception.
